Unlock PDF
Remove a password from a PDF (when you know the password). If your PDF isn’t locked, we’ll tell you — and still give you a clean copy.
How Unlock PDF works
- If the PDF is password protected: enter the password and we’ll remove it.
- If the PDF is not password protected: we’ll tell you it isn’t locked and still return a copy.
- If the password is wrong: you’ll get an “Incorrect password” message so you can try again.
Good to know
- Some PDFs have an “open password” (required to view) and/or a “permissions password” (restricts editing/printing). Either way, you’ll need the correct password to remove protection.
- If you don’t know the password, you’ll need to ask the PDF owner for it.
